Alwina Virani

Alwina joined Select Group in May 2023 as the Head of Legal

With over 19 years experience as a qualified lawyer, Alwina has extensive local experience in the field of real estate law, corporate commercial matters and financial services, having been in the UAE since 2007. She is well equipped to provide practical and strategic counsel to the Select Group leadership team, whilst ensuring alignment with Select Group’s continued and sustainable approach to growth and diversification in its portfolio, as well as in terms of its long term investment strategy.

Prior to joining Select Group, Alwina was a member of the executive management for a leading Abu Dhabi financial institution specializing in real estate financing and held the position of Senior Vice President Legal, Compliance and Quality Assurance. She was responsible for heading the legal and compliance function, as well as leading the corporate governance agenda having also been appointed Company Secretary to the Board.

Alwina obtained her LLB Hons degree, Law and Management from London South Bank University, UK and went onto obtain her postgraduate LPC from the College of Law, Guildford, UK in 2001. She is also qualified and admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya since 2004 and holds various other professional certifications.
